Tired

I've been feeling sooooo guilty about not posting recently, I have a great excuse, you know, tired, pregnant, too much running around after little people. The real reason is that every time I think about posting something I analyse it too much rather than just writing it down and putting it out there. And there's another thing too, every time I put pictures into the post I have to cut and paste the text back and forth so the pictures are in some sort of order as I write about them... It's frustrating but something I really should learn about and can't be bothered with.

So... what have I been doing lately apart from falling asleep on the couch instead of knitting? After finishing the coat, yay (havn't done all the weaving in yet) I started on another knitted babe for my son's friend from school, she is being very patient... (or she has forgotten that I am knitting one).

Here are some 'in progress' photo's...

She has now been but together, still have to finish the hair though and once that is done to make the clothes.

A couple of projects got started and finished, with my Dad's birthday looming and not much money, socks seems very appropriate...

and I squished a dishcloth in, this was fun, I got the yarn from The Wool Shack and used Peaches and Cream cotton in Sour Green Apple, here's the pattern.

Yet another project started (not too many finished), this is for next spring/summer, no more huge baby bump! (well, hopefully)

I am using Soho Summer DK Cotton (Jo Sharp), Sailboat. Dead easy but I love to wear simple patterns. Let's see if this actually gets finished by summer...

This probably wouldn't be at the bottom of the post, or shouldn't be but I got my Ravelry invite (don't thing I posted about putting my name on the list). Another black hole in my time management, it's great, it's easy to get lost in Ravelry and forget about what I should be doing in the real world (sleeping probably).

Finally

OK, I can't believe the last post was about not finishing the Shawl Collared Coat, it was so long ago. For the 2 people who probably read this blog (if your still actually there) I am sorry for the long absence. I blame the pregnancy, the morning sickness went on forever! Now I am just tired and a bit itchy (more on that in another post).

So I am on the last leg of finishing the Shawl Collared Coat, this is what it should look like but I've made it go to below the knee.

By this winter I should be wearing it, but with added baby belly, good thing it's not supposed to close at the front.

Hot, hot, hot.

So much for finishing and wearing my Shawl Collared Coat by the end of winter as previously expected, I was stuck wearing old, big and not so stylish jackets last winter, but this year will be different! 'Why?' you say. Well, I have been furiously knitting the collar, which was the last part of the coat left to knit, I am half-way there... I have run out of yarn again... oops (Jo Sharp - Alpaca Kid Lustre) but am setting out shortly to get some more. (Shortly means a couple of days in mum-who-has-3-kids speak)

So moving right along, these are the Jaywalker socks with the picot edge that I started as a prospective Christmas now birthday present, I do love the colours and how vibrant they are but I thought there would be a little more yellow in the G-Rocks, I know they change slightly with each batch which makes them beautifully unique. These are being knit with a smaller sized needle and I hope they fit over my niece's heel...

Knitting in hot weather is not easy, especially when the evaporative air conditioner is tackling humid weather. It also acts like it is tackling humid weather when temps are high for more than a few days, it's 41 degrees now so the lack of yarn is probably a godsend but I am itching to knit something, I just might try to find that knitted horse that I started for my son (meant to be "just like Bullseye from Toy Story 2"). I had knit one for my middle child and the eldest thought the horse was great so this afternoon there may be a search for a half knitted horse.

The recent warm weather meant we have been out in the garden much more...
